The Brewhouse is proud to work with a vast array of local community groups, from amateur dramatics companies, community dance organisations, charities and education providers, providing a space where local people can showcase their work.
Burton Children's Easter Festival
Each year The Brewhouse works with various performers and council venues to put on Burton Children's Easter Festival. With an array of events culminating in a day of activities called Play in the Place, in Burton Market Place, the festival aims to engage with families across East Staffordshire previewing some of the best Children's theatre and arts workshops.
A past project discovering and celebrating Burton’s brewing stories from the 1960’s and 1970’s. This ambitious community project explored life and work in Burton during the 1960’s and 1970’s through the stories of the people that were there. We have worked with professional storytellers and volunteers to interview local people who have shared their memories of living and working in Burton at the time.
A grant of £43,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and support from local residents, Staffordshire County Council, The National Brewery Centre, Queen’s Hospital, Burton Library and Burton Civic Society have all made this project to celebrate Burton’s unique past possible.
