Discover and celebrate Burton’s brewing stories from the 1960’s and 1970’s with the Story Wells of East Staffordshire project. This ambitious community project explores life and work in Burton during the 1960’s and 1970’s through the stories of the people that were there. We have worked with professional storytellers and volunteers to interview local people who have shared their memories of living and working in Burton at the time. Stories, photographs and audio clips from the project can be seen at brewhouse.co.uk/storywells.
A grant of £43,500 from the Heritage Lottery Fund and support from local residents, Staffordshire County Council, The National Brewery Centre, Queen’s Hospital, Burton Library and Burton Civic Society have all made this project to celebrate Burton’s unique past possible.
